The Christmas Stories M1T was my first “large” project (36 pages of art and editorial content) at PIL for which I had all-new illustrations. With the editor, Don Parker, writing most of the stories in the book, I ended up strongly contributing to the editorial direction and content of the book, based largely upon the creative director’s initial story ideas.

Don and I tried to steer clear of PIL’s usual antiseptic look for this line and, in some cases, I feel we succeeded nicely. I provided detailed thumbnails for the various freelance illustrators we used on this book; I am especially happy with the opening spreads for “The Best Gifts” and “Santa Mountain,” shown here.
